Nathanial Priscilla joined tdhG-IP three months ago. She shares her experience.

I joined tdh Germany – India Programme as a Programme Coordinator just three months ago. If I was to summarize my first impression, I feel I am at a place whose rallying call is “Not in words, but in action!” The professionalism and commitment demonstrated by the team is tremendous, and the focus towards the organization’s goals is clear.

After a few years in social work, I was looking to join an organization with a healthy, democratic culture and a horizontal hierarchical environment, where both the organization and I would benefit. Tdh has proved to be just that in the year or so I’ve been here.

I complete two years with tdh very soon, a time rich with experiences and learnings. I was born in Delhi and have spent four decades here, visiting pretty much every part of this vast city. Over the years, I’ve seen children begging outside temples, selling flowers and magazines at traffic signals, serving tea and food items and washing dishes at roadside hotels.

Former child workers ensure food security through sustainable farming

A small-scale kitchen garden initiative, started by rescued child workers engaged in mining and other allied industries, soon transformed into a motivating case of sustainable farming. The boys and girls of the bridge school of SEEDS and Don Bosco today grow their own vegetables and fruits ensuring sustainable and within-reach food security.
